Regional Disparities of the Ageing Process in Czech Republic after 1990
Original language description
The article deals with the differences of the age distributions on the NUTS 3 territory in the Czech Republic for the last twenty years. The research is using data from censuses 1991 and 2011. The Czech Republic has consisted of thirteen regions and onecapital city with regional status since 1 January 2000. This means that the Czech Republic is administratively divided into 14 regions. We were researching their ageing process during last 20 years. The typology is given by weigh of the children?s and oldest component. The analyses on this spatial level are using choropleth maps for demographical data presentation where we used ArcGIS 10.1 as a complete system for information. The main goal is to sort all fourteen regions on a base of children and elderly ratio to the different population ageing groups: gently ageing population, ageing population, old population and very old population.
