Forecasting is a way we can simulate the future development of company environment. This is crucial for long-term planning of the company. It is necessary to identify factors of internal and external environment, which influence and will influence to thecompany and evaluate their impact. Individual methods differ in their type, time horizon, the modus operandi and intensity of time and money. It might not be easy to choose the proper method for the company. In this paper selected common methods are used for forecasting and selection of the most appropriate one for given company is determined by the utilizing AHP method.
