    Opportunities and limits for identification and development of gifted pupils

  • Original language description

    The aim of the paper is to analyse the opportunities and limits of support of talented students in the context of institutional education in the Czech Republic. The theoretical backgrounds of the contribution are based on the psychological and sociological interpretation and the legislative definition of the talents, the summation of the socio-cultural, political and economic conditions of its development. The research findings are based on the results of the long-term cooperation of the VSB - Technical University of Ostrava, selected secondary schools and pedagogical-psychological counselingcenters in the Czech Republic on identification and development of talented students within the project Development of advisory services for extremely talented secondary school students with special educational needs. The research results are illustrated with examples of good practice.
