The paper presents the experience with the application of an (auto)biographical-narrative approach in qualitative research. The research was aimed at the area of identification, description and interpretation of lifestyle limitations in persons with chronic illnesses. In a pilot study the research design was used in three adult individuals (multiple sclerosis, diabetes mellitus and depression). The research sample, in which the above mentioned approach was applied, consisted of four adults with multiplesclerosis. The method of overall conceptualization was the (auto)biographical narrative in the form of multiple case study research design. Data collection was performed by means of the life history method (in the form of life curve and life story), semi-structured interview and Cantril ladder.
