    The presence of global virtual cooperation in the corporate sphere has become a general fact. The global environment, however, brings to the ICT-mediated collaboration the intercultural dimension. The current research shows that the intercultural competence is one of the important factors of success of global virtual teams. This fact implies that in the management of the global virtual teams, there should be placed a special emphasis on the intercultural competence. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the main approaches to the development of intercultural competence of global virtual teams. .
