  • Original language description

his summer school provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of geopolitical and geo-economic dynamics in the Indo-Pacific region, with a particular focus on Taiwan. The program explored Taiwan’s strategic significance in regional and global affairs through discussions on international relations, security challenges, and economic interdependence. A central theme was Taiwan’s position at the heart of Sino–US rivalry and its implications for regional stability and the rules-based international order. Participants examined Taiwan’s role as a technological and innovation hub and its contribution to economic resilience and supply-chain security in the Indo-Pacific.The program also offered in-depth insights into recent developments surrounding Taiwan, highlighting perspectives of regional stakeholders on cross-strait tensions, as well as broader sessions on Taiwan’s history, society, cultural identity, and international role. In addition, participants were introduced to academic and policy-oriented methodologies, including open-access research and policy paper writing. Lectures and discussions were led by distinguished international scholars and policy experts, providing participants with valuable perspectives on one of the most strategically significant regions in contemporary global politics.
