The early stages of interaction between effective and non-effective race-specific genes in Lactuca sativa, wild Lactuca spp. and Bremia lactucae
Original language description
The aim of this paper was to contribute to the elucidation of the time sequencing of the interaction between Lactuca spp. genotypes with different defense mechanisms against a highly virulent race (NL 16) of B. lactucae. As the events that determine hostresistance or susceptibility often occur in a vary limited populations of cells at the infection site the experiments focused on the early stages of B. lactucae development and response of epidermal cells during 48 hours after inoculation.
