Original language description
The of the title compound, C14H20N4 2+.2Cl-.2(CD3)SO, consists of a centrosymmetric N-1, N-2-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,2-ethanediammonium dication, two chloride anions and two hexadeuterodimethyl sulfoxide molecules. In the crystal structure, the cations form channels, extending along the [001] direction, which are occupied by dimethyl sulfoxide molecules molecules and chloride anions. The secondary structure is further stabilized by N-H ... Cl and N-H ... O hydrogen bonds and weak intermolecular C-H ... Cl and C-H ... O interactions.
