Original language description
The paper deals with the role of literature and media in the context of reading literacy development of elementary school children. Its aim is to present the results of a questionnaire investigation in which five grade pupils from Czech elementary schools have been involved. The investigation is focused on elementary school children?s reading including not only reading of traditional printed texts, but also reception of digital texts. The aim of this investigation is to create a profile of contemporaryelementary school readers on the basis of their attitudes, interests and preferences within a given research sample. The role of teachers in the development of reading literacy in teaching-learning process is also examined.
