In this contribution, we will define some of the current trends and topics in the Czech literature for children and youth, paying attention to family relationship problems, social pathological phenomena and disabled individuals. Values education belongsto very important elements of the young people's educational process, we suggest the possibility of using literary texts with child and teenage hero for pupil's personality development in accordance with curriculum documents in this work.
