The paper is devoted to reading literacy and the development of pupils at primary school. Following the Reading Literacy focus on the field of understanding educative text. Post a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with defining reading literacy, the developmental model, further comprehension and the relationship of language and cognitive processes. The practical part shows the research, which is aimed at promoting understanding educative text for students of the second grade ofelementary school.
