Visually impaired individuals and their perception of life satisfaction
Original language description
The issue of "quality of life" or "life satisfaction" brings insight into an area, which has relatively recently been examined in detail on many levels and from the perspective of many disciplines. We can say that its specificity lies mainly in the areas, such as the perception of the position of a particular individual or group of people in life, for example in the context of a specific culture, value system and in relation to individual goals, expectations, standards, etc. The text is shaped by an initial research investigation, which was carried out in persons with visual impairment using a standardized life satisfaction questionnaire (Fahrenberg, Myrtek, Schumacher, Brahler), as presented in its Czech edition by K. Rodná and T. Rodný. The basic issue was to gain experience with the research tool. This questionnaire is not prepared for people with vision disabilities, and yet research in many of the specific groups of persons shows that is widely usable even in this field (with certain adjustments in the administration area). From the methodological point of view, all the prescribed procedures were followed, the outputs were reviewed and were interpreted by an experienced psychologist (Mgr. Gabriela Smečková, Ph.D.).
