Modern approach to computing teaching based on CODE.ORG
Original language description
Computing teaching has become an integral part of the basic school curriculum. Whenever a new technology emerges, the issue of innovations in teaching content always follows after a time. Currently, in addition to the user-based approach to teaching, the trend of product-oriented teaching has emerged, where pupils learn how to create new artifacts in the classroom. These may be computer programs in the case of informatics as a school subject. In the present paper, we will therefore deal with the selected online applications that are designed to promote computing teaching and allow pupils to create computer programs. The applications are free to download and can be found on the website of the non-profit organisation Code.org. The available learning environment is designed for basic school pupils of all ages who are interested in computer science in order to learn not only the basics of computer work, but also to create computer programs.
