To a large extent, the quality of our lives is influenced not only by where we live, but primarily whom we are surrounded by, what position in the society we occupy and how satisfied we are with our social and family background. The objective of this paper is to describe the subjective perception of the quality of life in persons with visual impairment. This will be performed by means of research studies aimed at persons with severe visual impairment – their employment and families. The paper is one of the outcomes of the following project: IGA_PdF_2017_013 entitled: ‘Quality of life in persons with special needs in the current research context’.
