Future English teachers' self-assessment: teacher trainees' confidence in their own teacher competences
Original language description
The paper focuses on specific professional competences of future teachers of English and their ability to self-assess. The main aim of the study is to find out how teacher trainees, future English teachers, assess different aspects of their own teacher competences. Another aim is to specify to what extent the future teachers' self-assessment differs after their first and second teaching practices. Three specific competences were selected for this particular study, communicative, linguistic and linguodidactic. The analysis is based on the data gathered in two questionnaire surveys among future teachers of English.
