    Artists/Ceramists in the Role of University Teachers

  • Original language description

    The study focuses on the subject of university education in the field of ceramics at Palacky University in Olomouc. Czech Republic from 1946 until the present. The study uses historical and methodological research as its basis. It is, largely, intended to be a reflection of the region’s cultural heritage, but also analytical of education in the ceramics field in Olomouc; the city being a place with a vibrant tradition in art education. Additionally, it includes a central focus on the subtopic of artists as art teachers, with particular regard to the university teacher’s individual art work. The central goal being to evaluate education in the field of ceramics in Olomouc from the past to the present; in the process identifying and analysing some of its specific features. Concurrently, it aims to evaluate the level of interconnection between university ceramics education and identifiable features in pedagogical practises among art teachers.
