The Issue of Prerequisites for Reading in Relation to the Development of Perception and Motor Skills in the Conditions of Primary School
Original language description
he aim of the study is to map and monitor possible connections between the child's motor development, perception and preconditions for reading (ie readiness for reading) in regular primary school children. The presented study was about the verification of some kinanthropological-psychological characteristics in first graders in the Czech Republic. The presented paper presents the results of the survey using the psychological method Reverse Test (Edfeldt, 1992), which offers a wide range of uses in both diagnostic (especially pedagogical-psychological counseling) and psychological research. The research group consisted of a total of 100 children (boys and girls) from a regular primary school, first graders. These were children in the age category from 6 to 7 years. The reverse test maps a child's readiness to read and is also used in case of reading and writing difficulties. The results of the research indicate the need for possible interventions in the pedagogical process in the field of development of reading skills with an appeal to (especially) parental and pedagogical competencies. The study was supported by the project IGA_PdF_2022_011. The presented research took place with the consent of the parents of the monitored children and with the consent of the ethics committee of the workplace. The main benefit of the study is the analysis of the understanding of the preconditions for reading in relation to the development of perception and motor skills in the child's life.
