The Comparison of Perceived Quality Factors of Czech and Slovak Spa Destinations

The comparison and the assessment of the importance of the twenty factors determining the overall quality of the spa destination in Slovakia and the Czech Republic is the main objective of this article. A questionnaire survey, asking visitors to selected spa destinations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, was used to obtain the data. Based on the obtained data the ranking of importance of factors influencing the perception of spa destination quality differs in Czech and Slovak spa destinations. In Czech spa destinations the level of personnel quality, sense of security and destination cleanliness have been found as the most significant factors. On the other hand, the offer of spa services and procedures, food and the level of personnel quality have been found as the most significant factors determining the quality in Slovak spa destinations. The article also analyses the dependence of the quality factors on the gender and age of the respondents and on the type of visit in a particular spa destination.
