Information System for Food Origin Monitoring
Original language description
Food origin monitoring is a current requirement both of customers and European Union directives, which relates to food safety. The developed information system not only records data on particular kinds of foods, including their origin and easy QR-code identification, but it also enables a simple web presentation application on ingredients and origin of the food itself. The article also presents a mobile application primarily designed for small and medium-sized producers, which easily enables the producers to put together the product information by scanning QR-codes of the used ingredients. This se-cures the consistency of information about food, including all-embracing in-formation on the origin of the ingredients. Therefore, customers acquire complete information not only about ingredients but primarily about the food origin as well. Hereby, the systém prevents the misuse of brands, such as FairTrade, organic food, local food, etc.
