Early developmental and phytohormonal events occuring in pea lateral bud outgrowth
Original language description
The key role in bud growth regulation play auxins and cytokinins. We investigated morphological and phytohormonal changes in early stages of axillary pea bud growth and development. We used 2nd buds from intact and decapitated 21-day-old pea plants (Pisum sativum L. cv. Vladan). The cellular events were observed on paraffin sections and estimated by Image analysis. The most important changes were observed in the apical part of procambium 24h after decapitation. The ratio between major axis and minor axis of ellipse equivalent to procambium nucleus was assessed. Important changes of procambium cell differentiation induced by decapitation were indicated by nucleus elongation, which constitute the major part of cells at that time.
