Imacts of climate change and climate variability on maize yields
Original language description
Crop growth model CERES-Maize is used to simulate grain yields in present and changed climate conditions. Daily weather series representing present and changed climates are synthesised by the stochastic weather generator Met&Roll. Other input data (previous crop, planting and fertilisation details, etc.) required to run the crop model are represented by typical values of individual input parameters. Climate change scenarios related to increased CO2 are based on several GCM experiments available from IPCC Data Distribution Centre. Following issues are addressed in the presentation: (i) Validation of the model yield variability. (ii) Impacts of climate change related to increased CO2 (iii) Effects of interdiurnal variability of daily and monthly weathercharacteristics on model yields . (iv) Adaptation analysis.
