Molecular and association analysis in an endangered breed: summer dermatitis in Old Kladruber horses
Original language description
The autochtonous Old Kladruber horse is considered as an endangered breed. Due to it's isolation and small size, occurrence of various types of diseases may represent a serious threat implicating conservation issues. Summer dermatitis occurring also in the Old Kladruber grey population is an allergic reaction to insect bites, with possible involvement of specific susceptible genotypes. According to manifested clinical signs of summer dermatitis observed over last 8 years, 73 breeding mares were classified as susceptible and resistant, respectively. A combined approach was used to screen the genome for candidate chromosome regions and/or candidate genes. 50 microsatellites and 9 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in 5 candidate genes, the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptor gene CD14, the toll-like receptor 4 gene TLR4, the gene Ce encoding the IgE heavy chain molecule and the gene FceR1 alpha coding for the alpha subunit of the IgE receptor molecule, were genotyped. Molekulární a asociační analýzy u ohroženého plemene: dermatitida u starokladrubských koní
Czech description
Autochtonní populace starokladrubských koní je považována za ohrožené plemeno. Letní dermatitida je alergickou reakcí na hmyzí bodnutí a objevuje se u této populace v závislosti na výskytu specifických náchylných genotypů. Testovány byly mikrosatelitní markery i SNP polymorfismy.
