Analysis of a novel member of the PAT family, LSDP5 gene, in pigs

Our work is aimed to analysis of the structure and variability of the porcine LSDP5 gene and its association with growth and meat performance in pigs. To date, the partial sequence of this gene was determined. This partial sequence comprises complete exons 4, 6, 7, complete introns 4, 7, partial exons 3, 5, 8 and partial introns 3, 5, 6. Several polymorphic loci in coding and non-coding sequence were detected. Single nucleotide substitution A/G in exon 5, was detected will be used for association analysis and for linkage mapping of the porcine LSDP5 gene. Nevertheless, we believe to find other polymorphisms in the last part of the gene, which is just analyzed.

Czech description

Tato práce je zaměřena na analýzu struktury a variability prasečího genu LSDP5 a jeho asociaci s růstem a masnou užitkovostí u prasat. V současné době se nám podařilo určit pouze část sekvence tohoto genu, zahrnující kompletní exony 4, 6, 7, kompletní introny 4, 7, částečnou sekvenci exonů 3, 5, 8 a částečnou sekvenci intronů 3, 5, 6. V kódující i nekódující sekvenci tohoto genu byla nalezena řada polymorfismů. Jednonukleotidová substituce A/G nalezená v exonu 5 bude využita pro asociační analýzu a vazbové mapování genu LSDP5 u prasat. Dalším krokem bude dokončení sekvenování zbývající části genu a analýza nově nalezených polymorfismů.
