Effect of bovine DNAJA1 gene polymorphisms on beef tenderness in a commercial crossbred population
Original language description
DNAJA1 (DnaJ (Hsp40) homolog, subfamily A, member 1), encodes a heat shock protein participating in the apoptosis inhibition by preventing mitochondrial translocation of the pro-apoptotic Bax protein. A strong correlation between DNAJA1 expression leveland beef tenderness was detected and gene alone explained 63 % of the variability of tenderness.
