    The influence of feeding wheat with blue aleurone on biochemical parameters, antioxidant activity and performance of broiler chickens

    Blue wheat contain the higher content of anthocyanins than common wheat cultivars. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of feeding wheat with blue aleurone on broiler chicken&apos;s biochemical parameters, antioxidant activity and performance parameters. The study was conducted on 60 hybrid broiler chickens Ross 308. They were fattened on deep litter system. The experimental period lasted from day 12 to day 36 of chickens ages. The broilers were randomly divided on 2 groups. The first group (n = 30) was fed experimental feed mixtures containing 38.2% of blue wheat UC66049 and second group (n = 30) was fed control feed mixtures containing 38.2% of common wheat Vánek (C). At the end of the experiment was collected the blood samples (n = 8 in the both groups). In the blood were determined the enzymes activities (aspartate aminotransferase, gamma-glutamyl transferase, alanine aminotransferase, lactate dehydrogenase), concentrations of albumin, total protein, cholesterol, triglycerides, bilirubin, uric acid, urea, and antioxidant activity. During the trial were not observed significant differences (P &gt; 0.05) between both groups in blood biochemical parameters, antioxidant activity, feed intake, feed conversion, weight, and carcass indicators.
