Original language description
Infections caused by resistant strains of bacteria have reached a critical level calling for increasingly effective delivery system of drugs to prevent and treat these infections. PLGA nanoparticles (NP) with mupirocin encapsulated could be good for better and quicker wound healing process. The aim of the experiment is to develop PLGA NPs with entrapped mupirocin and determine basic characteristic of it. Mupirocin is effective antibiotic in the fight against mentioned infection. For synthesis of these NPs was used emulsion evaporation method. Characterization of prepared NPs consisted of measuring size (141.1 +- 9.3 nm), zeta potential (-21.9 +- 4.6 mV) and morphology by method TEM. Also, we did a release profile of mupirocin from NPs. Loading capacity was calculated as 2.34 μg and entrapped efficiency as 22.4%.
