Uptake and transport of 2,4-D in the initiation the embryogenic culture of Norway spruce
Original language description
In this work the attention was taken mainly to the uptake and transport of 2,4-D, which seems to be one of the most important factor influencing embryogenic cultures induction in most of coniferous plants. The 14C-2,4-D was used for study of uptake in radicle, hypocotyl and cotyledons of embryo. In first 8 hours the highest content of 14C-2,4-D was observed in radicle, but after about 16 hours all three parts of embryo showed almost equal level of 14C-2,4After 24 hours the highest level of 14C-2,4-D incotyledons was appeared, but after 32 hours decreased, probably as the result of polar transport. 14C activity per 1mg of fresh embryo weight decreased in time till 72 hours, when rapidly increased probably as the result of starting proliferation processes.
