Flow karyotyping ofNorway spruce (Picea abies L. Karst)
Original language description
Flow cytometric analysis of suspension of isolated chromosomes enables us classification of chromosmes in the form of histograms (called flow-karyotypes) based on biochemical features such as their relative DNA content, base content, protein content or various morphological parameters. Flow karyotyping has found applications in monitoring karyotype changes, for the detection of aberrant chromosomes, for mutagenicity testing and chromosomal library construction. A method for isolation of Norway spruce chromosomes in suspension, their analysis and using of flow cytometry is described.
