The performation of woods plates under balistic impact

Original language description

Experimental results on the ballistic testing of plates made from different woods are presented. Wood plates of different thickness have been impacted by three different projectiles. (7062 bullet, ball - 5,3 mm in diameter and sharp fragment) at different velocities ranging from 20 to 900 m/s. Limit velocities V50 have been determinated. These velocities have been compared with the mechanical properties obtained by using of the Hoplinson Split Bar Technique. The simple analytical model of the penetration in wood targets has been suggested. has been suggested.A reasonable agreement of the measured values of the projectile residual velocities with computed ones has been reported
