Analysis of Vegetable Production in the Czech Republic
Original language description
In 2015, vegetable production was lower (183.6 thousand tons of harvested vegetables) against the previous year. The average annual value increased some up to 60 % in the majority of monitored types of vegetables. The greatest decline of prices was recorded for lettuce cabbage, savoy cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower, lettuce, cucumbers, onions and garlic. The average consumer prices of some monitored vegetables such as peppers, cucumbers and cauliflower also decreased especially in the second half of 2014 compared to 2013. The import of fresh vegetables to the Czech Republic in 2013 increased again and reached on 571.4 thousand. t. The value of imported goods was increased by more than 9 % to 9.3 billion. CZK.
