Original language description
The contamination of food and foodstuffs with microbial pathogens is serious problem for aspect of inhabitant sustenance. The number of alimentary infections incident by Yersinia enterocolitica strains growed not only in the Czech Republic, but also overthe world. The pathogenic strains Y. enterocolitica are isolated from animals, birds, foods, water, soil and environment. Y. enterocolitica may be separated by serotyping into approximately 60 serogroups, of which only 11 serogroups are most freguentlyassociated with human infections (with serogroups O:3, O:5,27, O:8 a O.9 predominanting).The principal reservoires of enteropathogenic yersiniae are animals, Y. enterocolitica is mainly found in farm animals, but also in other domestic and wild animals.
