Food safety and quality and animal production health have recently become major topics of veterinary research and the focus of several national, European and international grant agencies. Since 2005, the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Brno has been conducting two major projects in these areas. Both projects contribute to enhancing the quality of research at the university, and some results have been published in peer-reviewed international scientific journals included in the Citation Index database.
