The effect of minor mycotoxin enniatin B on in vitro ruminal organic matter digestibility of total mixed ration (TMR)
Original language description
The aim of the study was to determine the effect of enniatin B in levels corresponding to acute exposure for ruminants and its double on ruminal digestibility of organic matter (OMD) of bulky type of total mixed ratio using an in vitro rumen fluid buffer system. The OMD ranged from 35.77 (E20) to 40.53 % (E10). There was no difference between C and C+ group (38.13 and 36.84 %, respectively, P>0.05) suggesting that methanol as a solvent had no effect on viability of rumen microflora. OMD in E10 was higher than in C+ and in E20 (P<0.05) and tended to be higher than in C (P=0.065). Further studies are needed to clarify the effect of minor mycotoxins on rumen digestibility of nutrients.
