The Impact of the Bologna Declaration on Undergraduate Training of Teachers in the Czech Republic
Original language description
On the basis of Bologna Declaration and within the framework of the efforts towards unification of the European Education System, the EU countries agreed on the necessity to increase the number of the population graduating from universities and colleges. The system of tertiary education has been subdivided into the undergraduate and the following graduate level. The original five-year graduate studies were kept only in cases required by their specific character (e.g. general medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, special artistic branches, law lower primary teachers? training). It is obligatory for teachers´ training colleges (called Pedagogical Faculties or Faculties of Education in the Czech Republic) to execute the structuralized type of studies (except for the above mentioned branch of teaching at lower primary schools).
