The Professionals' View on the New Comenia Script
Original language description
This paper is focused on introducing the new Comenia script in primary schools in the Czech Republic. It specifically describes the attitude of professionals (teachers, psychologists, graphologists and handwriting experts). Their views on the pros and cons of the new Comenia Script and classic hand-writing script used at present have been explored. It also presents their views on the results of previous researches, which surveyed the views of parents and teachers (teachers introducing the Comenia scriptand teachers who work with classic handwriting). Professionals consider classic handwriting faster, which is different to the opinions of other respondents. Due to the fact that during the experiment in the Czech Republic, the Comenia script (CS) was taught at 33 primary schools in the first grade, and this year the number has increased by approximately 20 other classes, the results represent restraint and division between professionals
