Original language description
The paper of the research team deals with a topic of reading comprehension relating to the method of reading practice in the period of so called early literacy reading. It introduces with reading methods used in school practice in the Czech Republic. The aim of the research are results focused on qualitative readers’ performance parameters, i.e. way of reading and comprehension of pupils at the end of 1st and 2nd year of primary school taught by different reading methods. The research is based on the years 2016 – 2017, where in addition to loud reading, silent reading and listening texts were used. The questionnaire is focused on readers’ reading skills self-assessment. We build on research findings published in a scientific article of our two year research Reading Literacy and Methods of Improving Reading (Košek Bartošová et al., 2016). From the interesting results obtained, it is impossible to define general conclusions precisely, what the most effective method is, but it can show an insight into the given issue.
