Original language description
The traffic flow control by traffic leights is the way how to decrease negative impact of daily traffic in cities. The paper introduces a concept of the hierarchical traffic flow regulator for urban area. The aim is to derive an optimal setting of signalscheme parameters according to actual traffic conditions with maximum utilization of available traffic information. Main principles of modelling, state estimation and control strategies are briefly describes and tested for each control level.

Czech description
Řízení dopravních toků pomocí světelé signalizace je způsob, jak snížit negativní dopad každodenního automobilového provozu ve velkých městech. Článek představuje kncepci hierarchického řízení doprvních toků pro městské oblasti. Cílem je nalézt optimálnínastavení parameterů podle aktuální dopravní situace s maximálním využitím všech dosažitelných dopravních informací. V článku je stručné popsán princip modelování, odhadu stavu a strategie řízení. Výsledné algoritmy jsou testovány pro všechny úrovně řízení.
