Indicators of functional differentiation of the chick embryonic kidney.
Original language description
As relevant indicators of the functional capability of the embryonic kidney tested in the chick mesonephros in vivo were revealed transepithelial potential difference in distal tubules and trypan blue absorption by proximal tubules. Activities of enzymesof the proximal tubular brush border (alkaline phosphatase and 5'-nucleotidase) evaluated after the minimum incubation time appeared reliable and relevant indicators of the functional properties of mesonephric nephrons at cryostat sections. The enumerated parameters appeared reliable and relevant indicators of the functional properties in developing mesonephric nephrons.
