Increased expression and altered subcellular distribution of PKC-delta in chronically hypoxic rat myocardium: involvement in cardioprotection

  • Original language description

The study analysed the role of protein kinase C (PKC) and its isoforms delta and epsilon in the mechanism of cardioprotection induced by chronic hypoxia. Our results showed that chronic hypoxia had no effect on the expression and distribution of PKC epsilon. On the other hand, the relative amount of PKC delta was increased in all analysed subcellular fractions. PKC, particulary its delta isoform, plays an important in the mechanism of cardioprotection by chronic hypoxia. The infarct size-limiting effectwas completely abolished by the acute administration of general PKC inhibitor and partially by the PKC delta-selective inhibitor

Zvýšená exprese a změny v subcelulární distribuci delta izoformy protein kinázy C v myokardu chronicky hypoxických potkanů: uplatnění v kardioprotekci
