Mitochondrial dysfunction in epilepsy
Original language description
Mitochondrial dysfunction has been demonstrated in the seizure focus of patients with temporal lobe epilepsy and in several adult and immature animal models of epilepsy. Impaired mitochondrial function can affect many important functions, including neuronal excitability and it has been proposed to be highly relevant for seizure generation
