Preparation of Bis(polyfluoroalkyl)cyclopentadienes, New Highly Fluorophilic Ligands for Fluorous Biphase Catalysis.
Original language description
Bis[2-(perfluoroalkyl)ethyl]cyclopentadienes were synthesized from lithium [2-(perfluoroalkyl)ethyl]cyclopentadienides and 2-(perfluoroalkyl)ethyl triflates. Bis[2-(perfluoroalkyl)ethyl]cyclopentadienes with two identical fluorinated chains were also prepared in poor yields from cyclopentadiene and 2-(perfluoroalkyl)ethyl iodides by reaction with KOH under PTC conditions. 2-(Perfluoroalkyl)ethyl triflates are useful fluorinated building blocks and can be employed in the synthesis of functionalized polyfluorinated substances.
