Supercritical Fluid Extraction of Medicinal Components from Urtica dioica L.
Original language description
Dry leaves and roots of stinging nettle were extracted with dense carbon dioxide modified by ethanol. Chlorophylls (chlorophylls a and b and pheophytine a) and carotenoids (b-carotene and lutein) were extracted from the leaves and b-sitosterol, scopoletin and homovanillyl alcohol from the roots. Extraction pressure was varied in the range of 10-28 MPa, temperatures were from 25 to 60 degrees C, ethanol concentration in CO2 was 0-9.4 wt., CO2 flow rate was 0,5 g min-1 and load of extracted material was 0,5-4 g.
