2-DFS of Nile Red stained samples is a fast method for evaluation of changes in hydrophobiocity. In our laboratory we have measured the spectra of NR stained microbes, the carriers of different shape and enzyme biocatalysts. The Nile red is an empiricalprobe. 2-DF spectra of NR stained carriers and biomaterials can be used as polarity fingerprints.
