Benefits and Risks of Waste-to-Energy Technologies. Přednáška na konferenci Energy Industry in a Broader Context, 30.11.2017, Prague
Original language description
Waste-to-Energy possibilities and suitable technologies were assessed with particular focus on municipal solid waste incineration. All aspects, mixed fuel composition, calorific value of MSW, possibilities and limits for heat and power recovery, emissions, flue gas cleaning and solid residues leaving the gas cleaning process have been considered. Incineration and generally thermal processes of waste treatment should be viewed as accompanying methods beside recovery and recycling methods applied for mixed waste. The new, changing role of waste incineration process in the transition period to circular economy, broader contexts and impacts on waste management and disposal due to circular economy have been discussed. nn
