Linkage and radiation hybrid mapping of the porcine gene for subunit C of succinate dehydrogenase complex (SDHC).
Original language description
A fragment of the porcine SDHC gene was amplified and sequenced using a pair of primers selected from the human sequence. From this sequence a second set of primers were designed that amplified a 758bp fragment of the porcine SDHC gene. PCR-RFLP was performed with both sets of primers and polymorphism was observed after restriction with Hinf I. For routine typing pair 2 primers were preferred. Linkage mapping was performed and the SDHC gene was mapped in the Hohenheim Meishan x Pietrain pedigree to a chromosome 4 linkage group. Radiation hybrid mapping was performed using the IMpRH panel and a radiation hybrid map was built. Two point distances and multi point analyses were performed.
