Facts and Values is an account of the traditional philosophical problem, which was presented on the international workshop ?Ethics of Science?, held in Prague on 27. 2. 2006. It states the irreducibility of the values to the facts, which means at the same time, that values cannot be deduced from the facts. On the other hand, there is some regularity in their mutual relationships and the values can be established just owing to the meaning of being as a whole.

Článek je příspěvkem z mezinárodní conference ?Etika vědy?, která se konala v Praze 27. 2. 2006. Zabývá se tradičním problémem vztahu hodnot a faktů. Přiklání se k řešení, podle něhož je hodnotová oblast neredukovatelná na oblast faktuální, což zároveň znamená, že hodnoty nelze z faktů deduktivně odvozovat. Přesto má vztah mezi nimi své zákonitosti. Hodnoty mohou být ustaveny pouze díky smyslu bytí jako celku.
