Detailed Mapping of Methylcytosine Positions at the CpG Island Surrounding the Pa Promoter at the bcr-abl Locus in CML Patients and in Two Cell Lines, K562 and BV173.

  • Original language description

Using restriction enzyme cleavage/PCR method and bisulphite sequencing method, de novo methylation of Pa promoter at the bcr-abl locus in CML patients and model cell lines has been analysed. While RE/PCR is able to find rare cases of hypermethylation, e.g., for diagnostic purposes, it does not reflect the domination level of methylation in Ph-positive cells.
