Reproducibility of short TE STEAM .sup.1./sup.H MR spectra from frontal, occipital and parietal brain regions acquired without outer volume suppression.
Original language description
The aim of this communication is to show the variations observed in proton MR spectra acquired from various brain regions on a 1.5 T MR scanner (Symphony, SIEMENS) from 3x3x2 cm.sup.3./sup. VOIs by short-TE (20-30 ms) STEAM localization, with short TR (1500 ms), and no outer volume suppression. Both inter- and intra-subject reproducibility of the MR spectra was followed on 18 healthy volunteers (age 20-70 years) under the condition of low water suppression efficiency (50-250x). In this case, the residualwater signal can serve as an internal standard for quantitation and compensation of various types of artifacts in the acquired MR spectra.
