A Low-Molecular Weight Dialyzable Leukocyte Extract Selectively Enhances the Development of CD4+RORt+ T Cells and IL-17 Production
Original language description
A low-molecular weight dialyzable leukocyte extract (called transfer factor) has been used for many years in clinic to improve or modulate immune response. However, the mechanism of its action remained obscure. Here we showed that transfer factor modulates the production of various cytokines by activated T cells and that the most profound immunoregulatory effect of transfer factort can be seen on the development of Th17 cells and interleukin-17 productiion. Transfer factor significantly enhanced the production of proinflammatory cytokine IL-17.
