Synteny of orthologous genes conserved in human, mouse, snake, Drosophila, nematode, and fission yeast.

  • Original language description

In human, mouse, Caenorhabditis elegans, andSchizosaccharomyces pombe, the genes encoding programmed celldeath 2 (PDCD2), TATA-binding protein (TBP), and proteasomalsubunit C5 are located on the same chromosome. In Drosophila and snake Trimeresurus, theorthologs of the PDCD2 and TBP genes are also syntenic. The orthologs of two tightly linked C elegans genes, coding for brain protein 44-like (BRP44L) and PDCD2, map to about 2 Mb interval on human region 6q27 and on mouse chromosome 17.
